Our Youth
True Light Ministries is comprised of a large body of youth members. Much of our services and initiatives focus on our youth. From our youth ministry to our youth programs, we place emphasis on helping our youth achieve excellence. Our vision is that our youth be an active participant in their future; that they acquire both spiritual and academic knowledge; that they be assisted with personal development; that they may identify their gifts, talents, and passions; that they may become well-rounded individuals who are a service and True Light to their family and communities.

On a Roll – Honor Roll
We honor and admonish our hard workers. We believe in positive reinforcement. As a reward to those who have accomplished academic success, we host an annual trip to different attractions across the south. Those who have achieved All A Honor Roll receive a trip fully sponsored by our ministry. Those who have achieved A/B Honor Roll receive a trip partially sponsored by our ministry. We have found that our positive reinforcement system is a true motivator for our youth. As we expand our youth programs, we also look to expand our incentives to be distributed throughout the school year as well.
Youth Programs
True Light Youth Development and Tutoring Program (After School and Summer Program)
By giving our youth: somewhere to grow; somewhere to glow; and somewhere to go - we are aligning them with the principles, tools, and resources to be the light of the world. What is the light? The light is a source of knowledge; the light is independence; the light is creating, becoming, and evolving. Being a light embodies what Christ is to the church - a source, an answer, and a hope. Participants in our program are taught to connect to the gifts, talents, passions, and ideas within them to cultivate a fulfilling path for their future. Being a True Light is taking what you are taught and teaching others. Being a True Light is self-actualizing your goals along with God’s plan for your life, and being proof/example of what focus, dedication, and determination look like. Being a True Light is being well rounded; being spiritually, physically, and financially sound. Our Youth Program is designed to enlighten our youth of the possibilities of defining their future, establishing financial independence /stability, and becoming leaders of the future.
Our goal is to offer every resource and tool available to equip our participants with the steps and guidance to thrive independently throughout adulthood.
The After School Program is hosted daily from 3pm - 6pm. This free program offers students the chance to receive tutoring to help with coursework and class projects. Along with daily tutoring, weekly, we bring in speakers to teach subjects, such as: life skills, communication, entrepreneurship, finances, budgeting, and much more. During these specialized sessions, participants are given worksheets to follow along with the speaker, as well as the worksheets serve as step-by-step guidance to achieve mastery in that subject. Participants meet with camp counselors monthly to discuss which topics spark their interest and decipher where they would like to receive more instruction and resources for development. With this, more support will be afforded in whichever area of instruction the participant chooses.
During the summertime, our Youth Development Program will be hosted daily (Monday - Friday) from 8:00am - 6:00pm. Parents will enroll their child based on a “two-week session schedule” allowing room for travel and flexibility. Participants will begin their day with a light breakfast and prayer. Thereafter, participants are separated into breakout sessions based on their age group. In the breakout sessions they will focus on the daily activities. In the morning sessions, participants will work individually. During afternoon sessions, participants will work on group projects. In between, participants will engage in outdoor activities. During the summer, we will host field trips, event nights, and community events to keep the children active and to give them something to look forward to.

Summer Camp + Youth Conference
This summer, our youth will be participating in Jentezen Franklin Ministries Youth Conference Summer Camp.
This is a 4-day event will be hosted and funded by the Jentezen Franklin Ministry. We are beyond grateful for this relationship. Our youth will be able to experience connecting with other youth to learn leadership and spiritual principles. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our youth!
